Limitations of Pc-to-Phone VoIP

Pc-to-Phone voip by a Softphone is a big improvement over Free VoIP. You can call any number any time you want. No need for the other party to have a computer or wait for your call. But like in Free VoIP, you have to keep your computer switched on while you are talking. And other people cannot call you on this VoIP phone, though some VoIP providers provide such a facility.
For example, if you go for the SkypeIn plan of the from Skype, you get a special number which you send to your friends. When they dial this number, your phone rings if it is connected to the computer and internet at that time. The call is directed to voicemail, if you are not online. This is one of the many special features of VoIP services.
Even if you don't go for such special plans, the softphone is a great way to use VoIP to call all your friends and relatives for pennies.
