VoIP Providers

Choosing Your VoIP Provider

If you want to give the VoIP a try, it is not the question of where to find a VoIP provider but which one to go for. This is because lots of VoIP service providers are on the market with varying prices, features and service coverage areas.
So the decision turns largely on what you want to do with VoIP service, such as Switch to Broadband Phone altogether or Use VoIP as an additional means to make calls

Switching To Broadband or IP Phone

If you want to switch from your existing traditional telephone to a broadband phone, a number of well-known broadband service providers are there to choose from. Which one to go for depends on what are your calling needs.
For example, if you are using your existing phone mostly to make local or national calls with an occasional international call, then you would do well to go for the plan which offers unlimited domestic dialing for a low monthly charge.
On the other hand if you have to make a lot of international calls for your business, you can save a lot of money with business type of plans which allow you to make international calls for as little as 3 cents a minute to a large number of countries, with a little more for other countries not covered in the plan.
Such plans also include the facility of getting local numbers in other states or international destinations so that people calling you from outside your state or from international destinations have to pay only local charge.

Using VoIP As An Additional Means For Making Calls

If you don't want to switch to a VoIP telephone, but still want to use VoIP to make calls, you have two options:
  1. Make computer to computer or Pc to Pc calls.

  2. Make computer to phone or Pc to Phone calls.
Pc to pc calls are free while you may have to pay a small charge for making pc to phone calls though you can make free pc to phone calls also with some VoIP service providers. Though there are some limitations to this type of VoIP, this is the cheapest way to call your friends and relatives all over the world - no monthly commitments or need to buy any special equipment. Moreover the number of VoIP providers which offer such service is so large that you can pick and choose the one that is most suitable to you.
